Navigating Preferences

Cascade adds another layer of personalization to your experience through its user preferences. In Preferences you can save personal information to Cascade, customize Cascade's performance settings to match your computer processor speed, and change pricing and advertising display settings when working side-by-side with clients.

To locate Preferences, go to the menu bar and choose File > Preferences.

The Preferences dialog box is divided into three sections:

General Preferences

The General Preferences panel features Performance and Pricing sections to further customize your experience with Cascade.

Performance: Under Performance you have the option to show or hide page flip animations. An example of flip animation is seen in the Preview Area of Cascade's Designer screen when you travel or “flip” from page spread to page spread. The page flip effect is not vital to operate Cascade properly so if you are on a computer with a lower processor speed, it is best to hide page flip animations to increase Cascade’s performance. To hide flip animations, uncheck the Show Page Flip Animations box.

Pricing: Under Pricing you have the option to show or hide the total price of your product throughout the entire application. This is an excellent feature when you are working side-by-side with clients in creating a product or in any situation where it is best to not display a product’s total price during the product creation process. To hide pricing throughout the application, uncheck the Show Pricing box. When the box is unchecked, prices are not viewable until you begin the ordering process. Contact Information

The Contact Information panel features blank text boxes to enter your contact information and shipping address. When you enter this information in the Contact Information panel, Cascade will automatically insert it into the Contact Information and Shipping Address sections during checkout. This is a useful feature for people who have the same contact information and shipping address each time they place an order. Instead of having to reenter the information each time an order is placed, you only have to enter it once in the Contact Information panel and it will appear each time at checkout.

Once you fill out your contact information, simply navigate away from the page and Cascade will automatically save your changes.

Billing Information

The Billing Information panel features blank text boxes to enter your billing address and credit card information. When you enter this information in the Billing Information panel, Cascade will automatically insert it into the Billing Address and Credit Card Information sections during checkout. This is a useful feature for people who have the same billing address and credit card information each time they place an order. Instead of having to reenter the information each time an order is placed, you only have to enter it once in the Billing Information panel and it will appear each time at checkout.

If your billing information is the same as your shipping address and you filled out shipping address information in the Contact Information panel, then you can simply check the Same as Shipping Address box to auto fill the billing address boxes for you.

To fill out your credit card information, select the Add Card Information button on the right-hand side. Text boxes appear to enter credit card information.

If you would like Cascade to require a password when placing an order, check the Require Password for Ordering box and type a password.

Once you fill out your credit card information, select the Save button to save your changes.
